Sandy
Urgo
Sandy joined our staff in 2002 after spending the
previous two decades pursuing her interests in open
space preservation and sustainable land-use in Northern
New Jersey. She served eight years on the Township
Council in her hometown of Roxbury, including two terms
as the Mayor of Roxbury. She has a broad range of
experience in open space preservation, land use, water
supply, and other environmental issues. Her years of
experience and service to several non-profit
organizations concerned with sustainable development and
environmental protection as well as Roxbury’s Land Use
Boards, Open Space Committee, and Environmental
Commission are invaluable in her work. Sandy loves her
job negotiating open space acquisitions and enjoys
hiking, wildlife photography, writing and spending time
with her family in her off time.
